Clean Eating: Day 5
If you've been following my family's clean eating journey, can you believe we're already to Day 5? Time flies when you're staring longingly through Chickfila's windows!
Day 5 is Double Day #2, along with meatless Lent Friday. Let's see how we're shaping up.
Blood orange creamsicle smoothie
Leftover Kabocha soup (we substituted our leftover veggie soup!)
Hardboiled egg snack
Salmon, potatos, and broccolini dinner
Hot chai latte for dessert
Honestly, we might as well have made up our clean eating program with as many switches and substitutions we've made this week. We ran out of greek yogurt early on (oops) so we each made our own protein smoothie in liu of the creamsicle smoothie, but we all are eager to try this recipe once we get greek yogurt again!
Since we didn't make the Kabocha soup on Wednesday night, we ate our leftover veggie soup for lunch on Friday. These switches matched up perfectly, since we're meatless today!
I was super busy at work, so I never ate my snack. But I did drink 17,000 gallons of water during work so I think that cancels out.
I didn't have time to prep the dinner before work on Friday morning, so I unfortunately had to wait until I get off work to eat, but defintely worth the wait!
My family has a big problem with portion control: our plates are large and we fill them up and eat all of it. The proportions last night were much smaller, but the perfect amount! The sage roasted potatos (even microwaved 2 min power level 5) were awesome. The salmon was delicious and I promtly fell fast asleep.
My parents drank their chai lattes and gave zero feedback on that, so I'm to assume they were just fine.
Another day, another dollar.
